AI-S
A 1981 development of the Nikon AI system which allows more precise control of aperture on cameras with automatic exposure modes.
On AI-S lenses the smallest aperture is marked in orange, and there is a small crescent-shaped notch in the bayonet mount (highlighted in the picture) which some cameras use to determine that an AI-S lens is fitted.
