Nikon Z50 resources
11 January 2022
The Z50 was Nikon's third Z-mount mirrorless camera, after the Z6 and Z7, and the first with an APS-C crop-frame sensor (from the D500).
Significantly smaller and lighter than its full-frame brothers despite which the Z50 includes the built-in flash that they lack, but it does not have in-body image stabilisation or a top LCD. The simplified control layout misses out the useful rear joystick and buttons feel noticeably cheaper.
Related The Z fc (2021) is essentially a slightly bigger, heavier, retro-styled version of the Z50 with a smaller rear screen and no built-in flash. The Z30 (2022) is a Z50 without the electronic viewfinder, and with the addition of an articulated screen and rearranged buttons optimised for video shooting.
