Used equipment values

Used equipment values quoted on this site are generally given as a range, and are values for items in good condition and full working order, at the time the article was written.

These figures can only be estimates and actual values may vary considerably for a number of reasons.

Equipment in poor cosmetic condition, or exhibiting faults, will of course be worth less. As a guide, faulty items are usually worth 30-50% of the lowest price we quote for items in good condition, but the actual value will depend on the nature of the fault, the rarity of the item and so on.

At the other end of the scale, rare items in exceptional condition may attract a premium beyond the high-end value we quote.

Remember, too, that something is worth what someone wants to pay for it. An ebay auction with two keen bidders might exceed the top value we quote, but if there are no buyers looking for that particular item at the time the item could fail to sell for even the lowest value we quote.
