Gaussian blur
A technique for processing digital images which softens the image and reduces detail.
A Gaussian blur sets each pixel to a weighted average of itself and all the surrounding pixels, the weighting of each pixel's contribution declining as its distance from the original pixel increases.
Gaussian blur tends to soften the image while retaining more edge contrast than other blurring techniques.
