Focusing screen

Glass or plastic viewing screen which shows the scene to be photographed.

In manual focus cameras it can include focusing aids such as a split-screen or microprism, and may have lines to aid composition.

In some cameras the focusing screen is removable and different types of screen can be fitted depending on the application and the photographer's preference.
