Colour temperature
Colour temperature is a measure of the colour of a light source.
The filament of a conventional incandescent lamp has a temperature of about 2500 Kelvin, so its colour temperature is said to be 2500K.
Light sources which are redder have a lower colour temperature.
Light sources which are bluer have a higher colour temperature.
In photographic terms, 'daylight' is 5500K.
